Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish engaging, brand-aligned content across social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) for the association’s advocacy-related activities.
  • Partner with team members to implement an advocacy social media content calendar and ensure timely delivery of posts.
  • Collaborate with hospital members to ensure timely social media engagement.
  • Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, responding to inquiries and engaging with followers in a values-based, professional and timely manner.
  • Attend CHA advocacy-focused events to capture content and provide support for association leadership.
  • Lead live social media X chats or live streams.
  • Update design templates using tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
  • Guide short-form video editing or coordination for social media use.
  • Work closely with media relations, policy, federal affairs, and external affairs teams to support campaigns and initiatives.
  • Track and report on KPIs such as engagement, reach, and follower growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing social media accounts, preferably for an advocacy-focused nonprofit or association.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Have a strong executive presence with the ability to engage professionally with stakeholders of all backgrounds and levels.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
  • Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in basic video editing.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of strategic messaging and strong writing skills for all social platforms.
