Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, development, execution, and evaluation of the City’s digital communications across social media, websites, video, e-newsletters, surveys, and online engagement platforms.
  • Serve as the City’s lead digital content strategist and manager of the City’s social media presence, including content creation, publishing, engagement, and aligning communications across digital channels.
  • Oversee digital campaigns and communications plans that support priorities, community engagement, educational outreach, and brand visibility.
  • Manage digital advertising and online engagement to maximize reach and effectiveness.
  • Ensure digital content is accurate, accessible, strategically aligned, and visually compelling across touchpoints.
  • Oversee employee e-newsletters, websites, engagement platforms, surveys, and data reporting efforts.
  • Coordinate creative work with staff, contractors, and partners to support digital initiatives.
  • Ensure photo and video coverage for City events and initiatives as assigned.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and departments to ensure alignment and integrated communications across initiatives.
  • Engage with departments to identify needs, recommend digital outreach strategies, and support organizational initiatives through digital engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Digital Communications, English or related field; Master’s preferred; plus five or more years in digital communications, social media, websites, strategy, writing, and related areas; or equivalent experience; plus two or more years in a supervisory/management role.
  • A record of creative achievement and ability to tie work to strategic communications and marketing plans.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with graphic design principles, Adobe Creative Suite, Wrike or other PM software, asset management systems, and Web CMS, in addition to a well-rounded communications background.
