Job Description

Haus is seeking an experienced Creative Director with specialized experience in design systems to join our Los Angeles team. In this role, you will act as the senior creative and operational lead for a dedicated production support team, setting the standard for how design system components are built, documented, and governed across a mature, deeply integrated design system. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team spanning UX, UI, and documentation, while serving as the primary point of contact for the client's internal design system leadership.

What you'll do:

  • Own the quality, consistency, and craft of the design system across Figma design files and their code-adjacent counterparts.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of UX and UI Designers, providing creative direction, feedback, and professional development
  • Serve as the primary client-facing partner, translating client priorities into sprint-level scope, backlogs, and delivery plans
  • Rapidly develop a deep technical understanding of the client's existing system architecture, governance model, and internal platform integrations
  • Establish documentation standards, release processes, and design QA practices across the team
  • Balance big-picture design system strategy with hands-on review of components, tokens, and accessibility standards
  • Represent the team in client meetings and stakeholder reviews

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of design experience, with at least 3 years in a creative leadership role
  • Experience building, scaling, or documenting an enterprise-level design system
  • Expert-level Figma experience, including auto layout, variants, component properties, and token architecture
  • Strong working knowledge of design token systems (color, typography, spacing, elevation) and how they map to code
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and how they apply to component design
  • Experience with design system documentation platforms
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead and develop creative and UX/UI talent
