Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating graphic design materials, including social media posts, flyers, event signage, and digital communications.
  • Support the Strategic Communications Director with tasks such as proofing content, organizing materials, and publishing approved pieces.
  • Capture photos of members, programs, and events that reflect real, authentic moments in our community.
  • Work with the marketing team to contribute ideas and support campaigns that promote programs and services.
  • Help maintain a consistent look and feel across all materials in line with our brand standards.
  • Organize and maintain photo, logo, and marketing asset files for easy team access.
  • Use tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to design and edit content, while continuing to learn and grow creative skills.
  • Assist with updating the website to ensure program, event, and organizational information is accurate and up to date.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in designing graphics and creating content preferred.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design principles and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, with a strong eye for visual storytelling and detail.
  • Basic photography skills with the ability to capture authentic, engaging images.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proof and adapt content for different audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to take direction, receive feedback, and contribute ideas.
  • Comfort with learning new technology and platforms, including website content management systems and social media tools.
  • Passion for creativity, curiosity to grow professionally, and alignment with the mission and values of Active Generations.
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials (up to 20 pounds)
  • Regular movement throughout Active Generations’ facilities, including attending programs, classes, and events.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours based on event and program schedules.
