Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and proofread internal communications (emails, intranet posts, newsletters, talking points, announcements, and others).
  • Support development of external materials such as press releases, statements, website updates, and social media copy.
  • Monitor news and social media for relevant coverage, issues, and stakeholder sentiment; summarize findings for Executive Leadership through the development and distribution of daily Media Clips.
  • Maintain media lists, editorial calendars, boilerplates, and project message documents.
  • Gather information from subject matter experts across operations, engineering, business development, and commercial teams to develop clear, accurate content on deadline without errors.
  • Translate technical topics (e.g., pipeline integrity, safety, reliability, environmental compliance) into plain-language communications.
  • Develop videos, podcasts, presentations, one-pagers, fact sheets, and employee spotlights.
  • Serve on a rotating basis on the emergency response on-call team, drafting and securing approval for media statements related to 24/7 operations. Role requires after-hours and weekend availability as needed.
  • Manage administration of the Kinder Morgan Foundation, including grant tracking, application review coordination, donation reporting, and stakeholder communications related to community investment programs.
