Job Summary

Own and elevate pharmaceutical copy across client workstreams, balancing on-brand creative execution with fast, accurate manuscripts and a strong MLR-ready review process.

  • Copywriting & Creative Execution: Lead all project copy from draft to final, ensuring unique on-brand materials and timely delivery.
  • Quality & Collaboration: Maintain high standards, supervise junior writers, and align with cross-functional teams to uphold creative vision.
  • Strategy & Client Management: Present work to internal teams and clients, translate data and brand strategy into persuasive copy that moves the project forward.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Copy Supervisor (CS) works collaboratively with cross-functional brand team(s) as the hands-on manager of daily creative copy requirements for assigned client(s).
  • The Copy Supervisor ensures all projects meet the highest standards of creative and quality excellence and are delivered on time.
  • They support the generation of unique and innovative, on-brand materials for client(s), and develop text from draft stage through final copy.
  • The Copy Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and career development of junior copy team members.
  • Copywriting and Creative Execution – Responsible for all copy on projects across brand(s).
  • The CS ensures the accuracy of all manuscripts, including referencing, annotating, and submissions to enable a smooth MLR process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborates and communicates with team members in a productive manner to ensure goals are met and attains/maintains creative vision outlined for the agency.
  • Strategic Thinking – Demonstrates knowledge of marketing plans including objectives, strategies, and how success will be measured.
  • Client Management – Presents creative work regularly to internal teams and clients. Takes part in discussions to help refine the work, based on intimate knowledge of the data, market, and brand strategy.
  • Talent Management – The CS may supervise junior writers or freelancers, learning how to evaluate work, give constructive feedback, have a voice in meetings, and work more independently.
  • Administration – Maintains timely, detail-oriented, and accurate approaches to administrative duties.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Pharmaceutical Advertising experience.
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating strong and consistent writing ability required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel) or equivalent programs.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Indesign).
  • Proficient in social media and digital best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of healthcare copywriting—AMA style, health literacy, referencing and factchecking, prepping for medical/legal/regulatory submissions (preferred)
