Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements ATP PR activities (STARS) with the objective to raise the profile, awareness and image of the ATP, players, and tournaments.
  • Pitches sports and off-sports story angles with a focus on new and digital media.
  • Represents ATP to on-site media outlets, responds to questions about players and ATP, facilitates interview requests.
  • Liaises with Tournament Directors to coordinate player media and STARS activities and advises and coordinates these requests with players and their representatives.
  • Handles all on-site media interview requests and assists in fulfilling promotional and sponsor-related requests for players, logging each player appearance for department records.
  • Coordinates all mandatory post-match interviews as well as one-on-one interviews; advises players on scope/content of upcoming interviews.
  • Updates existing media contact databases.
  • Collects press clippings, videos and links from earned coverage.
  • Develop and maintain active and positive relationships with all target groups especially players, tournament directors, media, and sponsors to inform and engage them in ATP operations, initiatives and activities.
  • Coordinate advance publicity with tournament media and PR staff.
  • Assist in development of ATP publications and Website, promoting awareness for publications developed elsewhere to ensure relevance and sensitivity to tournaments, players, media and fans in the respective region.
  • Generates at least 25 player features per year.
  • Works closely with other departments such as Tournament Relations, Player Relations, Communications, Marketing and Partnerships.

Requirements

  • Public relations, media and communications skills.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Fluency in at least two languages (English + one.) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous work experience in a relevant field.

Preferred

  • Experience in Cision or Meltwater is a plus.
