Job Summary

Build social content and community across multiple brands with executive alignment, long lead planning, and data-driven optimization.

Collaborate across teams to surface seasonal initiatives, audience insights, and real-time coverage for campaigns, launches, and events.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Partner with Chief Curator and Director of Marketing to plan and execute a social media content strategy that reflects organizational priorities, with content reviewed and approved by the Executive Team.
Assist in developing and executing social media strategies, campaigns, and content calendars for multiple brands.
Create, schedule, and publish multiple posts per week for multiple brands per platform (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest), including graphics, videos, and other multimedia content.
Identify major campaigns and plan strategy for each.
Write engaging, on-brand captions and posts for review by the Editorial Director.
Ensure voice consistency across all channels.
Create and prepare assets for posts (photos with text, scaling photos, etc.)
Take video and edit into short reels and other communications.
Draft member newsletter and regular new story letters.
Monitor social channels daily, respond to comments and messages in a timely manner, and foster an active, responsive online community.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience managing social media or digital communications, preferably for multiple brands or nonprofit organizations.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different audiences.
Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest) and scheduling/publishing tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, HubSpot).
Experience creating content calendars and managing consistent posting schedules.
Comfort engaging with online communities and responding to audience interactions in a timely and professional manner.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams (marketing, design, programs) to gather and produce content.
The schedule for this role is 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. This position is expected to be primarily onsite at the Richmond Archives. May require occasional travel between office locations or for business meetings, events and/or training.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
