Communications Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements comprehensive communications strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives while ensuring all communications are consistent with the organization’s mission, values, and messaging guidelines.
• Produce high-quality written content for various communications channels, including press releases, reports, presentations, and internal communications.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
• Manages and responds to Requests for Information (RFI) from various stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery.
• Assists in managing communication during crisis situations, providing timely and accurate information to mitigate impact.
• Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of communications strategies and initiatives, using data to inform improvements.
• This is a temporary position that is anticipated to end in July 2027.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 12+ years of experience OR Associate’s degree and 11+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree and 7+ years of experience OR PhD with 5+ years of experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools.
• Ability to work on several products concurrently while managing competing deadlines.
• Exceptional written and verbal skills.
• Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

Preferred

• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Experience working as a Public Affairs Officer or other strategic communications roles.
• Experience serving as a Public Affairs Officer or other related strategic communications role.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining websites.
