Position Summary

We are seeking a mission-driven Specialist, Communications to focus on our neighbor’s experiences by managing the flow of communications between our neighbors and the organization. This role will work closely with our theology team and our communications team to ensure all neighbors who reach out receive an appropriate response that is on point with the brand and voice of He Gets Us. Our messaging must align with our mission to invite all people one step closer to the authentic Jesus.

The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple communication streams simultaneously. Primary responsibilities are inbox management, administrative correspondence, and impact team facilitation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Neighbor Experience

• Manage all inboxes, serving as the primary point of contact for external correspondence and ensuring timely, brand-aligned responses.

• Serve as the liaison between the impact team contract pastors and our neighbors.

• Escalate issues as necessary to senior members of Communications & Impact teams.

Copy Proofreading & Grammar Editing

• Execute meticulous, high-volume proofreading and grammar editing for organizational materials to ensure technical accuracy before final brand review.

• Support the Directors of Communication in editing communications to be used internally and externally.

• Ensure communications reflect the brands of Come Near and He Gets Us, the organizational voice, values, and culture.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
• 2 - 5+ years of progressive experience in public relations, strategic communications, or journalism
• Proven ability to develop and implement communication strategies that achieve measurable results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write for a variety of audiences and platforms
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Familiarity with engaged faith audiences
