  • Supports OCE communications, partners, and student outreach with pantry involvement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • This position assists the Office of Civic Engagement, supporting the OCE’s internal and external communications and marketing efforts, and helps with logistics for community service projects.
  • Acts as a liaison between OCE and other University offices, students, and community members, cultivating positive relationships with all constituencies and maintaining regular and effective communication.
  • Assists in production, formatting, and editing of internal and external communications and marketing materials – emails, newsletters, etc. – and generation and updates of website and social media content.
  • Ensures consistency of messaging and support to manage the OCE’s website and digital platforms.
  • Assists OCE staff in planning for community engagement projects for the University’s First Year Experience Explore program.
  • Provides summer support for the University’s student food pantry.
  • Provides continuity in administrative support over the summer, including managing community partner requests.
  • Coordinates community service events that address child health and wellbeing, education and literacy, inclusive community building, and poverty alleviation.
  • Provides support to the Office of Civic Engagement’s broader efforts by exposing students and communities to civic engagement opportunities that form agents of change who will impact their communities into the future.
  • Assists in coordinating the civic engagement track for the first year experience for new Sewanee students, which includes hands-on service projects in the local and surrounding communities for entering first-year Sewanee students.
