Job Summary

Own the theatre and dance program’s integrated marketing and audience development, coordinating across the School of the Arts to raise production awareness, drive subscriptions, and manage front‑of‑house operations.

  • Planning & Outreach: coordinate marketing plans across arts departments and external partners.
  • Production Marketing & Audience Growth: lead strategy for production seasons, audience development, and box-office operations for up to six shows annually.
  • Community Partnerships & Awareness: collaborate with community organizations and university units to broaden visibility of UVM Theatre and Dance.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Planning & Outreach: Coordinate outreach and development and implementation of marketing plan with other outreach and marketing staff across the School of the Arts.
  • Production Marketing: Oversee research, planning, implementation, and analysis of strategies related to the production season for the university Theatre and Dance program in the School of the Arts.
  • Audience & Front-of-House: Oversee audience development, marketing materials, subscriptions, box office student personnel, and managing front of house for the main stage theatre and dance season that includes up to six productions each year.
  • Community Partnerships: Partner with community organizations and university entities to provide information and increase awareness of UVM Theatre and Dance productions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least three years of experience in marketing and communications, with preference for experience in the arts, arts administration or related field.
  • Strong graphic design sensibilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work as part of a team; proficiency with design and marketing tools, and demonstrated skills in social media and website content management.
  • Occasional evening and/or weekends required
  • Background Check required for this position

Preferred

  • Desirable Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in the arts, marketing, communications, arts administration, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and facility with common online marketing and social media platforms and ability to quickly learn emerging technologies; ability to self-direct and complete tasks without constant oversight
