Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Drafting speeches, talking points, narratives and other materials for IMF’s senior leadership team to deliver messages at global, regional and/or country levels.
  • Working with management and across Fund departments to ensure institutional alignment on individual speeches/talking points.
  • Preparing tailored messaging and content for different communication channels/platforms, including blogs and op-eds.

Requirements

  • The candidate must have an advanced university degree (or equivalent) in Communications, International Relations, Languages, or a related field, supplemented by a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience, is required or a university degree, or equivalent, and ten (10) years of relevant professional experience are required.
  • Excellent English writing skills, with demonstrated ability to create compelling speeches, talking points and narratives for delivery to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Proven experience in converting technical work into cogent, accessible communication products and messages in numerous formats, including visual storytelling.
  • Good understanding of current global economic issues, knowledge of the IMF’s mission and policy work, and a record on connecting work product to broader external context.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with openness to ongoing feedback; strong negotiation skills; and high degree of comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

Preferred

  • Desirable Qualifications: The candidates must have excellent writing skills as well as a background in economics, with strong preference for a background in macroeconomics. This could include a degree or practical experience such as a portfolio of writing on topical economic issues.
