Job Summary

Own operational storytelling and policy execution for a university department, balancing multi-channel communications, policy updates, and program delivery to hit deadlines and budgets.

  • Communication materials ownership: plan, create, and deliver assets to internal and external audiences across channels.
  • Policy and process ownership: propose and implement updated unit policies to improve operations.
  • Program delivery: plan and direct unit programs to meet deadlines, budgets, and strategic initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and delivers communication materials through various mediums to designated audiences
  • Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
  • Plans and directs unit programs and/or projects to ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets
  • Plans, writes, and edits content for various internal and external stakeholders
  • Manages the day-to-day operational unit plans to align with strategic initiatives and to meet established objectives

Requirements

  • Three years of progressive professional experience in marketing and/or communications in a professional setting
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms and management tools
  • Extensive knowledge of web technology and web content management systems
  • Graphic design principles and software knowledge
  • Demonstrated team skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
  • Experience providing staff support and/or supervisory support within a multidisciplinary team
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Preferred

  • Medical/science writing experience
  • Familiarity with photography and video technology
  • Demonstrated project management skills in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience coordinating multiple internal and external communication channels and projects
  • Experience in an academic medicine setting
  • Community outreach, event planning, and development experience
