Job Summary

Drive communications strategy and media relations for the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.

  • Own updating the ODCTE Communications Plan and execute it across teams.
  • Must-have: 5+ years of related experience with at least 2 years in supervision.
  • Experience coordinating media relations, crisis communications, and social media policies.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Annually update the ODCTE Communications Plan and ensure plan is communicated and executed.
  • Coordinate media relations program. Direct the work of staff in areas of press releases, media alerts and developing relationships with all media outlets to communicate the value of the CareerTech system.
  • Manage and implement internal communications.
  • Coordinate videography and/or photography for internal events and all marketing projects.
  • Annually update the crisis communications plan and coordinate emergency notifications.
  • Coordinate social media participation by agency staff and ensure adherence to social media policy.
  • Coordinate special projects as requested.
  • Engagement in statewide committees as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing or related field.
  • Minimum Of Five Years Of Related Experience.
  • Minimum of two years of successful supervisory or management experience.
  • Requires valid state driver's license.
Preferred
  • Experience in public relations, communications, and/or marketing in an education setting.
  • Experience in state or government communications.
  • Experience in the CareerTech system.
  • Technical writing skills.
