Job Summary

Own homeowner-focused communications by translating complex rebuilding information into accessible, empathetic content and coordinating with partners to drive understanding and trust.

  • Public-facing messaging: align with Homeowner Engagement to inform and guide homeowners through resources and processes.
  • Content campaigns: develop materials across newsletters, website, social, events, and education resources to boost awareness and participation.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Foundation’s public-facing communications in close collaboration with the Homeowner Engagement team.
  • Develop messaging, content, and outreach strategies that help homeowners understand available resources, engage with the Foundation’s programs, and navigate the rebuilding process with greater clarity and confidence.
  • Support community engagement efforts by helping promote homeowner-facing programs, events, workshops, information sessions, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Coordinate with local partners, community groups, stakeholders, and internal team members to strengthen awareness, participation, and trust.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop clear, empathetic, and actionable messaging that guides homeowners through the rebuilding process.
  • Translate technical, architectural, permitting, and program-related information into accessible language across multiple formats.
  • Create compelling written and visual content that communicates the Foundation’s mission, programs, partnerships, homeowner journeys, project milestones, and community impact.
  • Develop content for newsletters, website updates, social media, presentations, reports, event materials, FAQs, guides, educational resources, videos, and other communications channels.
  • Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all communication channels.
  • Use data, feedback, and engagement trends to continuously improve communications strategy, homeowner experience, and public-facing materials.

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, nonprofit communications, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content.
  • Experience managing digital communications, including websites, email platforms, social media, and basic analytics.
  • A strong eye for brand consistency, visual communication, and design quality.
  • Experience developing campaigns, communications calendars, and content plans.
  • Comfort coordinating with vendors, consultants, media contacts, partners, and internal team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven approach and an interest in community-centered work.
  • Ability to work hybrid or flexible schedules as needed.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with architecture, housing, disaster recovery, urban planning, design, or nonprofit/community-based work is a plus.
