Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the Museum’s marketing and communications strategy and integrated campaigns supporting exhibitions, programs, events, fundraising and membership initiatives, and other institutional priorities.
  • Manage communications across print, digital, social media, email, website, radio, advertising, public relations, and other channels, including the Museum’s content calendar, production schedule, and community calendars.
  • Create, edit, design, schedule, and publish social media, email, website, blog, advertising, signage, exhibition collateral, and other print and digital communications.
  • Maintain the Museum’s website, digital platforms, brand standards, visual identity, editorial style, institutional voice, and shared communications assets.
  • Develop and execute advertising strategies and manage media relations, including press releases, media inquiries, interviews, press visits, earned-media opportunities, and crisis communications.
  • Collaborate with Museum departments to identify marketing needs, establish priorities and timelines, gather content and assets, and execute effective campaigns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with tourism and hospitality organizations, arts and community partners, media outlets, and other organizations to expand awareness and cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators; analyze campaign, social media, website, email, advertising, audience, and engagement data; and prepare regular performance reports.
  • Manage the marketing and communications budget, external vendors, project-request processes, communications workflows, and digital assets; support Museum leadership with institutional messaging and other communications needs.
  • Coordinate and support communications committee comprised of trustees and volunteers.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree, academic training, or equivalent professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, graphic design, or a related field, along with 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Candidates should have excellent writing, editing, storytelling, project management, and organizational skills; demonstrated experience developing integrated marketing campaigns; and strong social media, digital content, graphic design, and audience engagement skills.

Preferred

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, WordPress or similar CMS platforms, social media management tools, email marketing, and digital analytics is highly desirable.
  • Experience with photography, videography, media relations, advertising placement, and nonprofit, arts, museum, or tourism marketing is preferred.
