Job Description

Responsibilities
  • The Communications Intern plays a hands-on role in developing and executing creative content to capture and share compelling stories that showcase Milwaukee as a vibrant place to live and work.
  • Content Strategy - Develop a comprehensive communication plan and an associated content calendar that aligns with the scope of the internship project.
  • In partnership with the Marketing Coordinator, measure the impact of the content strategy by tracking social engagement, website traffic and email performance.
  • Content Creation - Shoot and edit short-form video content for MMAC’s social media accounts.
  • Content Creation - Write engaging articles for the MMAC website, newsletter and magazine.
  • Content Creation - Capture photos at MMAC events for use across media platforms.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Collaborate across MMAC departments to gather and promote content.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Attend MMAC events to connect with members and develop content ideas.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Interview MMAC members, stakeholders and other community members for storytelling pieces
  • Asset Management - Maintain a library of photos, videos and other assets.
Requirements
  • Full-time student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, media studies or a related field.
  • Must be located in the Greater Milwaukee area for the summer.
  • Must be available to work in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Experience with multimedia production and editing tools.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
Preferred
  • A love for Milwaukee!
  • Previous internship or experience in communications/marketing
  • Content strategy experience (preferred)
