Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Writing for the FairVote website and other platforms
  • Creating content for social media accounts
  • Researching topics related to elections and reform
  • Managing FairVote’s media monitoring for electoral reform news
  • Helping compile media lists and identify media outlets for particular stories or press releases
  • Following online political conversations and advising FairVote staff on opportunities to engage
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong research, writing, and communications skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and juggle competing deadlines
  • Interest in democracy reform
  • Understanding of, and passion for, FairVote’s policy areas
  • Desire to learn more about building advocacy coalitions
  • Open to rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, or recent graduates
  • Interns should be current undergraduate or graduate students, or recent graduates with a commitment to voting rights and electoral reform and an interest in media and communications
  • Coursework in political science, communications, and other relevant fields is preferred
