Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages content, updates pages on department and College websites, and tracks and analyzes website traffic and engagement data and seek ways to enhance user experience.
  • Writes news stories, profiles, and features showcasing student and faculty achievements, research spotlights, and organizational announcements. Researches and selects story concepts and communicate with the parties involved to arrange for interviews.
  • Writes, designs, edits, produces, and distributes electronic newsletters and other informational communication.
  • Creates promotional materials for student recruitment, program development, alumni development, and other purposes that advance department and College-level strategic goals.
  • Develops and implements department-level events and activities that align with the strategic goals of the department for recruitment and retention of students and for alumni development.
  • Directs or assists with a wide variety of on-site and occasional off-site events, including events for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other external constituents.
  • Supports College-level events in partnership with the broader SBS Communications and Events Team.
  • Collaborates with the department scholarship committee to determine scholarship award deadlines, promote opportunities, communicate award recipient information, and steward department scholarship opportunities.
  • Works with Undergraduate Program Directors, Graduate Program Directors, and Directors of Undergraduate Advising to track post-graduate student employment and develop a list of internship and alumni mentoring opportunities.
  • Develops communication initiatives to increase student response rates to existing tracking mechanisms for evaluating student success and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of professional experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with Drupal, basic HTML and CSS coding, Adobe Photoshop, video production, and video editing.
  • Experience in communications and web management.
