Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly read and articulate audit reports to the public via engaging social media posts that educate and inform
  • Monitor Massachusetts state and local government news to create relevant social content
  • Draft social posts with the Director of Communications for events, meetings, audits, and external communications
  • Help build a social media calendar and a comprehensive digital strategy with the Director of Communications
  • Develop, record, and edit compelling digital content for external channels
  • Craft high-level content strategies aligned with agency goals and community interests
  • Analyze social/digital data to refine content for maximum reach and engagement
  • Attend events with the Auditor for content gathering, including photography, videography, and sound
  • Edit video content for multiple social platforms
  • Collaborate with content creators and subject matter experts to ensure accurate information
  • Participate in meetings, problem-solving, and group learning; contribute to strategic planning
  • Engage in internal/external workgroups and meetings as needed
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure clear scheduling and event information
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of OSA programs, policies, and procedures
  • Review communications procedures to ensure quality results
  • Perform other duties as assigned; may be on-call or work weekends/evenings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of progressively responsible experience in communications, public relations, public affairs, or related field
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly under pressure
  • Experience in interactive/digital media communications, including web design, content management, social media, and video editing
  • Experience with advanced technical audio and visual equipment
  • Demonstrated drive to take ideas from vision to implementation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a broad range of colleagues and partners
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; proficient with MS Office
