Job Summary

You will own on-street activation in NYC zones, securing placements, engaging tourists and locals, and driving QR scans while reporting results and inventory.

  • Coordinate location placements and maintain visibility to maximize scans
  • Report end-of-shift findings and manage materials inventory
  • Build real-world relationships with venues and passersby to foster ongoing engagement

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Walk assigned NYC zones and secure table tent or card-stack placements at independent coffee shops, tourist kiosks, bike rental shops, and other high-dwell venues by approaching owners directly with a brief, friendly ask.
  • Re-visit existing placements on every route pass-through to confirm materials are visible and front-of-house, re-photograph them, and log updates to the team WhatsApp group.
  • Engage tourists and curious New Yorkers at high-dwell locations — landmark queues, park entrances, scenic viewpoints, and café perimeters — using a scan-in-place technique: you hold the QR card face-out and invite someone to scan from your hand rather than distributing cards one by one. The goal is to create a genuine moment of connection, not a transaction.
  • Identify your best-performing spots — locations where scans consistently cluster — and anchor there to maximize output. Every scan you generate is tracked in real time by zone, so your results are always visible and directly tied to your earnings.
  • Submit an end-of-shift report covering new placements secured, high-performing locations found, tactics that converted well, and remaining inventory.
  • Manage your daily material inventory and track distribution to ensure supply stays consistent throughout the campaign.
  • *Who You Are*

Requirements

  • You are genuinely curious about people — you find it easy and natural to start conversations with strangers.
  • You read the room quickly and can adjust your approach based on who's in front of you.
  • You see street work as an opportunity to build relationships and expand your own network, not just a way to earn.
  • You have strong intrinsic motivation and don't need constant supervision to stay focused.
  • You're comfortable working outdoors across different NYC neighborhoods in all kinds of weather.
  • You take pride in making people feel seen and welcomed — not sold to.
  • You're interested in New York City: its history, its culture, its hidden stories.
  • Any background in hospitality, tourism, education, community work, or sales is a plus — but no formal experience is required.
