Job Summary

Own the nonprofit marketing and communications engine end to end, balancing strategy, brand discipline, media relations, and high-profile events to drive visibility and fundraising impact.

  • Strategic Marketing: Build and run an integrated plan across digital, print, social, and PR that ties to organizational priorities.
  • Brand & Messaging: Keep messaging consistent and ensure the brand is seen as a trusted community leader.
  • Events & Partnerships: Lead planning and execution of major events, speaker and sponsor procurement, and on-site delivery.

Job Description

Own and execute the full marketing and communications engine for a nonprofit, balancing strategy, brand integrity, and event-driven impact across media, content, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and drive an integrated plan aligned with organizational priorities across digital, print, social, and PR.
  • Messaging & Brand: Ensure clear, consistent messaging and uphold brand integrity across all platforms.
  • Media & Spokesperson: Serve as primary media contact and organizational spokesperson as needed.
  • Content & Campaigns: Create core messaging and produce donor communications, speeches, press materials, and campaign assets.
  • Agency & Partners: Direct external PR and creative partners to ensure on-brand, high-quality execution.
  • Communications Channels: Oversee website, email marketing, and social media to maintain coherence and reach.
  • Media Relationships: Build and maintain relationships to enhance visibility and coverage.
  • Annual Materials: Lead development of the annual report and key marketing materials.
  • Crisis Communications: Execute crisis communications in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Major Events Ownership: Lead end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of Live United Luncheon, Sneaker Ball, and Annual Meeting.
  • Event Strategy & Attendance: Develop event strategies that drive attendance, revenue, and community impact.
  • Speaker & Sponsorships: Secure speakers, sponsors, and in-kind partners to boost event success.
  • Logistics & Execution: Manage all event logistics, communications, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.
  • Event Calendar: Maintain an annual calendar of events and engagement opportunities.
  • Measurable Results: Ensure events align with organizational goals and deliver measurable results.
  • Marketing Resource: Serve as the primary marketing and communications resource across the organization.
  • Internal Partnerships: Partner with internal teams to support fundraising, leadership engagement, and organizational initiatives.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants.
  • Requirements Impact: The role demands a master’s in a related field, 10-15 years in leadership, nonprofit experience, event leadership, and proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing, and CMS.
