Job Summary

Own JDCA's public-issues narrative from strategy to rapid response, coordinating across political communications, brand voice, and media relations for a national audience.

  • Communications Strategy: Orchestrate multi-channel campaigns that align with voter contact goals and policy priorities.
  • Media and Messaging: Advise the CEO, manage consultants, and steer press materials to shape public conversation.
  • Rapid Response: Lead fast, precise reactions to breaking news in politics and Jewish communities.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated, multi-channel communications strategy for elections.
  • Lead JDCA’s brand positioning, ensuring a consistent and compelling voice across all platforms, including Substack, social media, and national press.
  • Serve as a primary advisor to the CEO on public relations and high-level political messaging.
  • Work directly with and manage JDCA’s media and digital consultants.
  • Oversee the drafting of press releases, statements, op-eds, and communications materials for the CEO and Board members.
  • Lead the organization's rapid response efforts, reacting to breaking news in the political and Jewish communal space with speed and strategic precision.
  • Directly manage the Communications Director and press and digital teams.
  • Work and collaborate with the Organizing and Political departments to align communications with voter contact goals and policy priorities.
  • Supervise the production of scripts and questions for virtual and in-person JDCA programs.

Requirements

  • Political Communications Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of high-level political communications experience required. Preference for individuals with 8-10+ years of experience in Congressional offices, campaigns, non-profits, and/or advocacy organizations.
  • Management and Leadership: Proven track record of managing high-performing teams, including internal staff and external agencies.
  • Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of U.S. politics and Jewish communal issues.
  • Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex policy issues into action-oriented recommendations.
  • Values Alignment: Commitment to Jewish and Democratic values.
