Responsibilities

• Hiring, training, motivating, and scheduling your crew to help achieve sales goals and customer service while fostering a positive work environment.
• Responsible for all ordering, pricing, and promoting of all products in the cheese department. Negotiate with vendors to ensure best product at best price. Begin rebate programs with vendors based upon sales volume
• Controlling expiration dates of all products and ensure that the FIFO system is used in the restocking of the floor and back stock inventory. Keep back stock inventory levels at minimum to achieve greater inventory turns.
• Train staff on proper cutting, vacuum packing, and wrapping of cheeses based upon industry and food safety standards.
• Hold cheese classes for our customers and ensure product demos and sampling happens on a continuous basis to help promote the department sales and the store. Cross market cheese with other departments to encourage multi departmental sales.
• Help to develop new, unique items for the store that you can’t get at the “Big Box” stores.
• Adhere to all government regulations for food safety, sanitation, and OSHA/MIOSHA requirements (ex. FDA, HACCP, OSHA, and Department of Weights and Measures)
• If not already, become Safe Serv Certified within 90 days. Snook's will absorb the cost of this class if not already certified.
• Keep work area, inventory area, and all equipment cleaned per U.S. Health Department Standards.
• Review monthly P/L statements and maintain established budget requirements for sales and income.
