Job Summary

Own brand strategy and cross-brand execution, shaping health and growth for multiple wine labels while partnering with Sales to push the brand to distributors and key accounts.

  • Brand ownership: drive strategy, new product commercialization, and platform-led growth grounded in consumer insight.
  • Cross-functional leadership: develop consumer platforms, brief agencies, and coordinate with insights, packaging, and design to optimize business-building plans.
  • Data-driven decision making: analyze diverse data to identify drivers and opportunities, then present senior leadership with actionable recommendations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the brand strategy and related tactics for multiple wine brands.
  • Serve as a brand marketer accountable for brand health and performance, manage new product development/commercialization, and liaise with Sales to promote the brand to distributors and key accounts.
  • Develop, implement and assess consumer-facing platforms to deliver and optimize business-building initiatives; leverage product equities and consumer insights for plan modifications, package changes, and line extensions; brief and lead consumer agencies for brand-building platforms.
  • Analyze business situations using various data sources to identify key drivers, challenges, and opportunities; make strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop creative concepts and opportunities in non-traditional, fast-paced environments; assess industry opportunities and craft concepts to fit them; work with consumer insights, category analytics, product development, and packaging design.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial track record with resource-conscious decision making, risk management, and creativity; manage ambiguity and multiple priorities.
  • Lead and manage projects, convey urgency, hold teams accountable for execution, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays based in the Pleasanton office, and requires travel as needed for photo shoots, tastings, and in-person meetings.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to listen and understand different perspectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) with 7+ years’ marketing experience or MBA with 2+ years marketing experience post-MBA.
  • Experience with alcohol/beverage or consumer packaged goods preferred.
  • Strong grounding in CPG marketing best-practices across the 4 Ps.
  • Strong competencies in strategy, commercialization, execution, and project management.
  • Leadership experience with demonstrated success in evaluating data to mine consumer insights and present fact-based recommendations to senior management.
  • Exposure to P&L management with experience managing a consumer-facing budget.
  • Must have ability to multitask, work well under pressure and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
  • Provide good verbal and written communications to all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva.
  • Discretion with confidential information.

  • Retailer selling experience beneficial.
