Job Summary

Own brand direction and system design, guiding color, typography, assets, and brand play across marketing and app; collaborate with two UX designers in kickoffs and weekly sessions to deliver palette, typography, logo, app icon, illustration, iconography, and a living brand style guide.

  • Own the brand system for marketing and product and ensure it ships with the product.
  • Align color, typography, and iconography with product constraints and design language.
  • Partner with an in-house team to implement and evolve the design system over time.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • You lead brand direction and design judgment. Our two UX designers execute at scale. That means a kickoff together, a weekly working session, and shared Figma access so they can build with your work in real time rather than waiting.
  • Sequence matters. Color and typography come first because the app build is blocked on them. Illustration and icon direction follow immediately after, not at the end, because our designers are producing those assets now.
  • What you will deliver - Color palette. A brand palette for marketing, plus an extended app color system that can express user stage (trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum) and functional states.
  • - Typography. Type direction for brand and app. Our current type reads techy. We want calm, human, and legible when someone is tired.
  • - Logo and app icon. A light refresh of the existing logo, evolution not redesign, plus the lockups we need. And a new App Store icon that reads at 60px on a home screen, our most-seen brand asset.
  • - Illustration style and brand design elements. The visual language that carries across app and marketing.
  • - Iconography direction. You set the style and our in-house UX team builds the library against it. If the icons only need a restyle, that is a direction-and-review job. If they need a full redesign, we will decide together who is best placed to build them.
  • - Brand style guide. Documented in Figma with our UX team as we go, so brand and app stay one system.
  • Not in scope: photography, marketing templates, website design.

Requirements

  • Strong color, typography, and systems thinking. You have built a color and type system that shipped inside a real product, not just a logo and a moodboard
  • Experience across both brand and product design. You can hand a UX team something they can actually build with
  • Real availability. Roughly 12 to 20 hours a week for the next 3 to 4 weeks, starting now. If you are fitting this around a full-time job, it is probably not a fit
  • Free of any employer restriction on outside work and on IP ownership. We need clean title to everything delivered
  • Comfortable working across time zones. Meetings mostly Pacific business hours, with some flexibility for our GMT+3 teammates

Preferred

  • Health, women's health, wellness, or consumer app brand experience
  • You have worked alongside an in-house product team before
