Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Your primary responsibility will be to research, write and refine high-quality legal content for law firm websites.
  • You will:
  • Produce a minimum of 20 completed, client-ready content units per month, generally averaging approximately five units per week.
  • All content must be hand-written. We allow AI for research purposes only.
  • Write long-form practice-area pages, location pages, legal guides, blog articles, FAQs and other authoritative website content.
  • Research applicable statutes, regulations, court decisions, procedural rules and jurisdiction-specific legal issues.
  • Rely on authoritative primary sources and reputable secondary sources, documenting sources for editorial review.
  • Translate complicated legal concepts into clear, accurate and helpful language for nonlawyer audiences.
  • Follow detailed SEO content briefs and skelton content drafts while using independent legal judgment to strengthen the final product.
  • Address search intent naturally without keyword stuffing, repetitive language or formulaic location swapping.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Outstanding legal research, writing, editing, grammar and proofreading abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex legal subjects in plain, accessible language.
  • Experience conducting reliable, jurisdiction-specific legal research.
  • Strong attention to factual accuracy, nuance and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines independently.
  • Openness to editorial feedback and willingness to revise work when necessary.
  • A portfolio containing excellent legal, professional or technical writing samples.
  • Reliable availability for a full-time remote schedule.

Preferred

  • Previous experience practicing law or working directly with attorneys and law firms.
  • Experience writing consumer-facing content for law firm websites.
  • Familiarity with legal SEO, search intent, content briefs and on-page optimization.
  • Experience writing about personal injury, criminal defense, DUI, tax or other consumer legal matters.
  • Familiarity with WordPress or similar content-management systems.
  • Experience working in a marketing agency or deadline-driven editorial environment.
  • Knowledge of attorney-advertising rules and responsible legal-marketing practices.
