Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee youth and adult sports programs, including leagues, clinics, camps, and special events (e.g., basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball).
• Ensure programs are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with YMCA philosophies and standards.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on participation and feedback.
• Develop seasonal program schedules and curriculum.
• Coordinate all aspects of league play including registration, team formation, scheduling, and game-day operations.
• Oversee officials, coaches, and volunteers to ensure a positive and safe experience.
• Manage gym/field usage and ensure proper setup and breakdown for games and practices.
• Address participant and parent concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise coaches, officials, and program staff.
• Provide ongoing training in YMCA philosophy, youth development, and sport-specific skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in sports programming, coaching, or youth development.
• Experience supervising staff or volunteers preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Passion for youth development and sports.
• CPR/AED and First Aid
• Child Abuse Prevention Training
• YMCA-specific certifications as required
• YMCA Team Leader Certification
