Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at Brown University seeks an Associate Director, Marketing Program Management to provide operational leadership for the planning, prioritization and execution of the School's marketing initiatives.
  • Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role serves as the primary relationship manager between SPS Marketing and Communications and academic and administrative partners across the university.The position leads project planning, prioritization and cross-functional coordination for a complex portfolio of marketing initiatives, supporting over 40 master’s, professional and executive education programs.
  • Working collaboratively across departments, the Associate Director advises stakeholders on project scope, timelines and resource planning while developing scalable operational processes, identifying workflow bottlenecks and leading continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen departmental effectiveness. As the team evolves, this role may also provide day-to-day oversight, coaching and performance management for one to two direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, project management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project management, account management, client services or marketing operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including experience preparing reports and presenting
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and advise stakeholders in a complex organizational environment.
  • Experience utilizing project management systems such as ClickUp, Asana, Monday.com, or similar platforms
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop operational improvements.
  • Ability to prioritize competing initiatives, resources and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience synthesizing data and project information into reports and recommendations that support leadership decision-making.

Preferred

  • Experience working at a marketing agency, client services or project management environment strongly preferred
  • Experience in higher education marketing, communications or creative operations
  • Familiarity with marketing and creative production workflows
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating integrated marketing initiatives across multiple channels
  • Familiarity with accessibility considerations for digital content and communications
