Job Summary

Own the UTK advancement web strategy and analytics, shaping platform architecture, accessibility, SEO, and donor-focused digital experiences while partnering across campus and leading performance dashboards.

  • Web ecosystem ownership: strategy, architecture, and day-to-day management of advancement web platforms and forms.
  • Analytics and optimization: translate GA/GTM data into dashboards and leadership-ready recommendations.
  • Accessibility and standards: ensure WCAG compliance and alignment with campus guidelines.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Web Strategy, Development and Oversight: Leads strategy, architecture, and day-to-day management of Advancement web platforms and online forms, aligning with priorities, brand, accessibility, and fundraising goals.
  • Partners with Advancement leadership and campus stakeholders to recommend digital solutions and lead high-impact web initiatives as the primary contact for major platform changes.
  • Represents Advancement on the campus-wide Web Developers Roundtable to ensure alignment with standards and best practices.
  • Data, Analytics, and Performance Optimization: Leads web performance analysis using Google Analytics and Tag Manager, translating insights into dashboards and leadership-ready recommendations.
  • Maintains UTM tracking standards, evaluates SEO performance, and develops metrics to assess digital effectiveness and brand awareness.
  • WCAG accessibility: Serves as the team expert, monitoring communications for ongoing compliance.
  • Digital Coordination and Partnership: Collaborates with Digital Strategy and Innovation and campus partners to align tools and strategies with operational goals like donor engagement and event participation.
  • Coordinates timelines, reviews, and approvals across web projects, aligning efforts with broader Advancement messaging.
  • Contributes to long-range digital planning to evolve platforms with audience needs and campaign priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years in web strategy, digital communications, website management, analytics, or digital marketing
  • Experience managing and optimizing websites in WordPress or comparable CMS
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager; ability to develop data-informed insights
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS; understanding of JavaScript impact on performance and tracking
  • Strong WCAG knowledge with inclusive design practice
  • SEO and performance optimization know-how
  • Ability to translate organizational goals into digital strategy and manage day-to-day execution
  • Strong analytical, organizational, strategic planning, and project management skills
  • Clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical partners
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset and commitment to advancing the mission
  • Valid driver’s license due to travel responsibilities
  • Candidates with graduate degrees must have at least 1 year of experience
