Job Summary

Own the department’s inclusive engagement, communications, and operations, delivering measurable improvements in community integration, messaging consistency, and cross-team collaboration.

  • Inclusion & Engagement: drive inclusive interactions and broaden independence and community participation for people supported.
  • Communications & Partnerships: shape donor and media-facing campaigns, ensure accessible, brand-aligned messaging, and build external partnerships.
  • Operations & Leadership: oversee department initiatives, planning, budgeting, and cross-department collaboration, stepping in as acting leader when the Director is unavailable.

Responsibilities

  • Inclusion & Engagement for People Supported
  • Facilitate and model inclusive interactions and relationships.
  • Promote increased independence and meaningful community engagement for people supported.
  • Encourage inclusive practices and challenge traditional perceptions of people who have disabilities.
  • Communications, Outreach & Community Engagement
  • Assist in the development and implementation of communications, marketing, outreach, volunteer engagement, and donor communications strategies.
  • Provide operational oversight of departmental initiatives, ensuring projects are completed effectively and timely.
  • Ensure messaging remains consistent, accessible, and aligned with the organizational values and brand standards.
  • Represent The Arc and support media relations, community partnerships, and public facing communications.
