You will own the creation and management of Challenger Center’s digital and external communications, guiding content across social, email, events, and PR with a focus on brand-consistent materials and analytics-driven improvements.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage engaging digital content across social media, email marketing, blogs, and website platforms, including copywriting, graphic design, short-form video production, content scheduling, and performance reporting.
  • Develop, edit, and proofread a variety of communications materials, including newsletters, annual reports, presentations, speeches, marketing collateral, and other external-facing content while ensuring consistency with Challenger Center’s brand and style guidelines.
  • Support public relations and media outreach efforts by assisting with media relations campaigns, monitoring, and tracking media coverage, maintaining media lists, and helping promote organizational initiatives and achievements.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of conferences, special events, and community engagement activities, representing Challenger Center and supporting marketing and communications objectives.
  • Maintain communications assets, provide reporting and analytics, support departmental planning and goal setting, and stay current on industry trends and best practices in STEM education, educational technology, nonprofit communications, and digital marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 1–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, or a related field; recent graduates with relevant coursework and a strong portfolio are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms and content calendars, with familiarity using social media management tools such as Sprout Social or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create, edit, and proofread compelling content for a variety of audiences and communication channels.
  • Strong visual storytelling and branding skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, video editing, or other creative tools are highly desirable.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously; experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, HTML, Constant Contact, MailChimp, or similar digital marketing platforms is a plus
