DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under the direction of the Chief Communications and Community Engagement Officer, the employee in this position assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating the district's strategic communications, public relations, and community engagement plan. An employee in this classification receives limited supervision within a general framework of District goals, Board policy, and established communications standards, and exercises independent judgment in media relations, crisis communications, and digital content strategy. This job class requires skill in strategic communications planning, media relations, public speaking, digital/social media management, staff supervision, and crisis response, along with the ability to represent the district professionally to the public, media, and community stakeholders.

Office and school environments; frequent travel between District sites; occasional evening and weekend work for Board meetings, community events, and emergency response.
