Job Summary

Own college athletics communications by delivering timely game coverage, press materials, and digital presence that boost visibility and engagement across teams, media, and fans.

  • Coordinate high-impact game coverage and statistics, ensuring accurate reports and compelling game stories.
  • Maintain and grow the athletics website and social channels, while producing promos and highlight clips.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Promoting the College’s twenty-three varsity athletics programs, as well as fitness and recreation programs, through written, verbal and electronic communications
  • Overseeing the upkeep of the Athletics Department’s website
  • Writing press releases and game summaries
  • Compiling in-game statistics
  • Cultivating communication with coaches, administrators, student-athletes and media
  • Maintaining the College’s athletics social media platforms
  • Playing an important operations role in live game coverage, including video streams, audio broadcasts, in-game statistics
  • Producing and releasing promotional and highlight video clips
  • Travel to cover Kenyon’s teams when necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated knowledge in rules and statistics of the sports Kenyon offers
  • Proven experience with Stat Crew, Presto, and NCAA Live Stats software in multiple sports
  • Ability to train and supervise student staff
  • Experience with editing video or multimedia content (Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere) or willingness to learn
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel

Preferred

  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign and Photoshop
  • Digital photography experience and understanding of online social media editing software like Canva
  • Prior experience in a sports information/athletics communications office (preferred)
  • Can use Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere for video editing
  • Fluency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel
