Responsibilities

• Build a welcoming environment and promote social, physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being through meaningful activities.
• Document resident participation and engagement in scheduled activities and programs.
• Plan and implement recreational, social, educational, and community-based programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
• Foster positive relationships and encourage participation based on individual preferences.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support care goals and enhance resident satisfaction.
• Observe and communicate changes in moods, interests, or participation to the team.
• Assist with community outreach and marketing events that showcase resident-centered care.
• Complete required administrative tasks, including audits, reports, and activity records.
• Help prepare, decorate, set up, and break down activities and special events.
• Assist with safely escorting and transporting residents to and from activities and events.
• Support a culture of Passion, Respect, and Excellence through compassionate interactions and service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of experience in an Activities Department or related healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is highly desirable.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, team members, visitors, and community partners.
• Demonstrates patience, enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for enriching the lives of others.
• Ability to build meaningful relationships and foster a sense of belonging among residents.
• Must be dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education and in-service training.
