Job Description

Location: Remote (New England)

About Us & The Position:

Freitag Marketing is a fast-growing digital marketing agency with ambitious plans to scale. We're serious about growth: more clients, more work, a larger team, and better systems every quarter. We're not looking to stay the size we are.

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to own client relationships and make sure every client feels expertly taken care of. You'll be the face of Freitag for your clients: the person who understands their goals, earns their trust, and makes sure they see Freitag as a strategic partner, not a vendor checking boxes.

You'll work closely with our Project Managers, who own execution. You own the relationship: the strategy conversations, the regular check-ins, and the client's overall experience with the agency.

This is a remote position with regular in-person contact built in. Candidates must be able to work within the Eastern Time Zone, attend a monthly in-person day at our Keene, New Hampshire office, and travel to client locations across New England as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, offering proactive recommendations for the team to improve client satisfaction and results.
  • Build a real understanding of each client's business, not just their marketing: their industry, their customers, their competitors, and what actually drives their bottom line.
  • Manage a growing book of accounts simultaneously, ensuring each client feels prioritized even as your workload scales.
  • Lead client meetings, providing updates on project progress, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations that move the account forward.
  • Manage resource allocation, ensuring the right team members are assigned to each project based on skill sets and project requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand or improve a client's program and bring them forward as recommendations, not sales pitches.
  • Flag account risk early and get ahead of it, not after a client is already frustrated.
  • Represent Freitag in person for key client meetings across New England when it strengthens the relationship.

This Is a Fast-Moving, High-Volume Role

Freitag is growing, and we expect the number of client relationships you manage to grow with it.

You'll have multiple accounts to look after at once, some needing strategic guidance, some mid-campaign, some needing a fast answer on performance. Priorities shift throughout the day. A client may need a same-day answer. Another may need a proactive heads-up before they even ask. A third may need you to smooth over a rough patch with the production team.

That should energize you, not overwhelm you. As we scale, we're not looking for someone who just works harder. We're looking for someone who asks: how do I manage twice the accounts without any of them feeling neglected?

What Great Looks Like

A great Account Manager at Freitag moves with urgency and thinks ahead.

You don't wait for a client to flag a problem, you catch it first. You don't let a client's question sit in your inbox overnight if it doesn't need to. You check in proactively instead of waiting for the quarterly call. If a client seems quiet or disengaged, you're reaching out to understand why before it becomes a bigger issue.

You also know your clients' businesses, not just their campaigns. You can speak to how their industry works, what their customers care about, and what's happening in their world, so your recommendations sound like they come from someone who gets their business, not just someone running their ads.

Your default question is: what does this client need from me next to feel taken care of?

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in project management and account management, ideally within a digital marketing or advertising agency.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing across AI and organic search, paid media, website design and development, and social media.
  • Genuine curiosity about how a client's business works, not just their marketing program, and the discipline to actually learn it.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of client relationships and competing priorities without dropping the ball.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and an ability to problem-solve on the fly.
  • Comfortable working with urgency: responding quickly to client needs and not letting things sit.
  • Able to attend a monthly in-person day at our office in Keene, New Hampshire, and travel to client locations across New England as needed.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Asana) and CRM systems.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with data-driven marketing strategies and performance tracking.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., Zapier).
  • Knowledge of AI tools for workflow and project optimization.

You'll Thrive Here If You

Move quickly and follow up without being reminded. Get energy from a full plate of client relationships instead of being drained by it. Think several steps ahead on every account. Communicate problems and opportunities early. Have a strong bias toward action. Genuinely enjoy learning how different businesses work. Want increasing responsibility, and more accounts, as the agency grows.

This Role Probably Isn't For You If

You prefer managing a small, steady handful of accounts. You wait for the client to raise a concern instead of getting ahead of it yourself. You need detailed instructions before taking action. You avoid difficult client conversations. You see the job as running campaigns rather than understanding the businesses behind them. You're not able to be in Keene once a month or travel regionally when a client needs it.

Salary and Benefits

  • Total Compensation Range $65,000 – 80,000 based on experience.
  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 12 days of PTO
  • Remote work with a monthly in-person team day in Keene, NH.
  • Opportunity for professional growth in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

To apply, please submit your resume along with a brief 1-3 minute video introduction describing your relevant experience and why you're interested in joining our team. Applications without both the video and resume will not be considered.
