Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize engaging content per the approved strategy and SEO (including AEO and GEO) best practices to appear on our retail website and publications, professional website, and internal POS.
  • Create, edit, and enhance content based on internal and external feedback, SEO standards and developments, and brand standards.
  • Research industry-related topics and categories to write authoritatively for part type, product, and category descriptions, How-To and brand content, as well as additional assets needed.
  • Proofread and submit written content that complies with brand consistency (style, fonts, tone, etc.), search engine optimization, O’Reilly voice, copyright law, and supplier brand standards.
  • Assist with search engine optimization, digital and paid marketing, and local search projects and contribute written content as needed to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Work with the video, design, and Marketing teams to ensure that copy and visual elements work together seamlessly and align with campaign and strategic initiatives.
  • Keep current with digital content and SEO, AEO, and GEO best practices, search engine ranking, and keyword and competitor research tools.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance using SEO performance metrics to identify areas for improvement or opportunities for new content.
  • Assist with special department projects at the direction of the Managers, Director, or Vice President.

Requirements

  • Experience with keyword-based content research and prioritizing search engine optimization in content production
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent verbal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, primarily Word and Excel
  • Ability to present a professional company image and positive attitude
  • Comfortable in a TEAM-oriented work environment
  • Ability to work productively and creatively with limited supervision
  • Superb attention to detail

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or relevant field
  • Experience and knowledge of product merchandising.
  • Automotive knowledge
  • Experience with AI content production tools and optimizing for AI-driven search results
