Job Summary

Own the technical SEO program across crawlability, rendering, and performance, coordinating SSR/PR, crawl management, and collaboration with strategy to drive measurable organic traffic and indexation health.

  • Technical execution: Audit and implement on-page and structured data, internal linking, and canonicalization to improve crawlability and indexing.
  • Performance and CWV: Diagnose and fix Core Web Vitals issues, optimize loading and server response times across CMS and custom builds.
  • Automation and collaboration: Build tooling for bulk SEO tasks and translate technical findings for non-technical stakeholders while guiding client scoping.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Technical SEO Auditing & Front-End Implementation: Conduct technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexation, site speed, mobile usability, and Core Web Vitals; Implement and maintain on-page SEO elements including meta tags, heading structure, canonical tags, hreflang, and Open Graph markup; Optimize internal linking structures and URL architecture; Ensure proper implementation of structured data (Schema.org / JSON-LD) across all relevant page types; Audit and optimize JavaScript-rendered content for search engine accessibility
  • Back-End Development & Server-Side SEO: Build and maintain server-side rendering (SSR) or pre-rendering solutions to ensure content is crawlable; Implement and manage XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and crawl directives programmatically; Configure and troubleshoot redirect logic (301s, 302s, redirect chains, loops); Optimize server response times, TTFB, and hosting configurations that impact SEO performance; Develop and maintain automated scripts or tools for large-scale technical SEO tasks (log file analysis, bulk URL inspection, crawl monitoring)
  • Site Performance & Core Web Vitals: Diagnose and resolve Core Web Vitals issues (LCP, INP, CLS); Optimize page load performance through code splitting, lazy loading, image optimization, and caching strategies; Monitor and improve site speed across mobile and desktop environments; Work within CMS platforms and custom builds to implement performance improvements
  • Crawl Management & Indexation: Monitor crawl behavior through log file analysis and Search Console data; Identify and resolve crawl budget waste, orphaned pages, and indexation issues; Implement and manage indexing API integrations (Google Indexing API, IndexNow); Ensure proper handling of faceted navigation, pagination, and duplicate content at scale
  • Collaboration & Strategy Support: Work closely with Account Strategists and Account Managers to translate SEO strategy into technical execution; Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical team members and clients when needed; Provide technical feasibility assessments for proposed SEO strategies; Participate in scoping and estimating technical SEO work for client accounts
  • Monitoring, Testing & QA: Set up and maintain monitoring for technical SEO health (crawl errors, indexation drops, performance regressions); Perform QA on site launches, migrations, redesigns, and CMS updates to ensure SEO integrity; Build and maintain testing frameworks for validating technical SEO changes before deployment; Document technical implementations, processes, and configurations
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Regularly audit client sites for emerging technical issues; Stay current with search engine algorithm updates, rendering changes, and technical SEO best practices; Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and tooling; Flag risks early and recommend solutions before issues impact performance

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on technical SEO experience
  • 2–4+ years of front-end development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • 2–4+ years of back-end development experience (Python, Node.js, PHP, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, render, and index content
  • Experience with server-side rendering frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt.js, or similar)
  • Proficiency with technical SEO tools (Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Google Search Console, log file analyzers)
  • Experience with Core Web Vitals optimization and site performance tooling (Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, WebPageTest)
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, or custom CMS environments)
  • Familiarity with structured data implementation and testing (Schema.org, Google Rich Results Test)
  • Experience with version control (Git) and deployment workflows
