Job Summary

Support planning and execution of volunteer and donor events while contributing to BTSV communications and the ongoing brand refresh.

  • Assist with planning and executing volunteer and donor events (Career Exploration Day, Visitors Days).
  • Demonstrate design and media skills with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Create and edit photos/videos and support social media campaigns.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and executing volunteer and donor events (Career Exploration Day, Visitors Days).
  • Support BTSV’s communications and marketing, including social media and fundraising campaigns.
  • Take photos and videos at summer program sites and at events.
  • Contribute to updating and refreshing website content to reflect the new brand identity as part of the ongoing rebrand.
  • Report to BTSV’s Development Events Manager.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a two- or four-year college.
  • Experience with design programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
  • Experience with photo and video editing.
  • Experience with social media platforms, especially TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent writing skills and strong grammar.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite, including Excel/Sheets.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement projects with attention to detail.
  • Creative problem-solver with a can-do attitude; willing to support where needed.
  • Communicative and able to responsibly pose questions and ask for clarification whenever necessary.
  • Demonstrates collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn and grow.

Preferred

  • Majoring in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Mailchimp, SquareSpace, and/or Asana.
  • Experience with SEO and website management.
  • Experience with event planning.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Vietnamese).
  • Experience at a nonprofit youth development or educational organization focused on college access for first-generation students.
