Job Summary

Build and own the end-to-end research program, turning data into decisions that move Nationwide ahead of competitors across key audiences.

  • Drive data visualization, dashboards, and storytelling to influence stakeholders and enable rapid implementation.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative studies and cross-functional alignment to prioritize initiatives and measure impact.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple research projects to develop business and customer insights to drive business objectives.
  • Manages workstreams of research projects and tracking programs designed to provide greater insights to facilitate gain insights around Nationwide’s performance relative to the competition among key audiences
  • Documents the efforts of the business subject matter experts; conducts the business alignment and scoping sessions.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets a wide variety of underlying data to support business, customer and/or financial objectives; able to identify new ways to combine business data to improve research output and marketing and business outcomes.
  • Drives the initiative to build on and/or improve existing research to solve business problems
  • Interprets research results and shares with internal stakeholders.
  • Builds data visualization to support business needs.
  • Designs and implements qualitative and quantitative research projects and methodologies used to measure consumer perceptions and satisfaction.
  • Helps drive marketing action and results through the interpretation and application of data and research findings.
  • Helps facilitate business implementation planning sessions.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in business related field preferred. Post-graduate studies a plus.
  • Experience: Typically, 10 or more years proven experience with analytic techniques, statistical methodologies, statistical software and data analysis. Experience with problem solving in a business environment; working with large customer and/or prospect databases; working with product, geographic, demographic data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proven experience as a consultant-level resource. Experienced knowledge of analytic lifecycle, business intelligence, database warehousing applications, structured query language, and qualitative/quantitative research methodologies. Extensive theoretical, practical and industry-specific knowledge is needed. Solid understanding and experience with the following technologies: house holding, geo coding, data visualization software, data quality parsing and standardizations tools, address cleaning tools, business intelligence software, applications software applications. Validated understanding of purchased data sources and methodology for integrating to marketing database environments. Ability to integrate critical information from a variety of sources, apply and/or develop highly sophisticated principles and concepts, and strong communication skills. Validated excellence in problem solving, analytical, research and quantitative analysis skills and analytical working techniques, including regression, decision trees, multivariate analysis, etc. Proficiency in developing ad hoc queries using SQL. Comprehension of Agile methodology framework.

  • Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
