Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies that support marketing, recruitment, and enrollment goals.
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging written, graphic, photo, and video content across multiple social media platforms.
  • Maintain an editorial content calendar to ensure timely, consistent, and strategic messaging.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive online engagement.
  • Analyze social media performance and provide recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
  • Partner with faculty, staff, and campus departments to promote academic programs, student success stories, and college events.
  • Attend events throughout GBC's service area to capture photos, videos, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Supervise and mentor student employees assisting with social media and digital content creation.
  • Organize and maintain digital media assets while staying current with emerging social media trends, platforms, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant professional experience; OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and six years of relevant professional experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six years.

Preferred

  • Experience managing social media accounts for an organization, business, or educational institution.
  • Proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management and analytics tools.
  • Experience using applications such as Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative software.
  • Photography, videography, and video editing experience.
  • Experience in higher education, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and interpersonal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
