Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own strategy and day-to-day management of MOCA's social channels across major platforms.
  • Lead content planning and publishing to support exhibitions, programs, and institutional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with curatorial, education, advancement, and programming teams to maintain editorial voice.
  • Produce multimedia content and oversee live program coverage, including photo and video assets.
  • Engage with online audiences and monitor platform activity with timely responses.
  • Oversee performance tracking, reporting, and coordination of paid and organic campaigns.
  • Partner with external collaborators to extend reach and impact.
  • Able to grow digital communities through ongoing engagement and dialogue.
  • Ensure effective use of emerging tools and channels for audience growth.
  • Capture and edit multimedia content, including video interviews and on-site coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a similar social media role with content creation.
  • Experience managing content for multiple platforms and understanding platform best practices.
  • Experience managing rights and reproductions of contemporary artworks, including licensing.
  • Experience working with contemporary artists for proper representation.
  • Proficiency with media monitoring, CMS, and project tools like Sprout, Asana, Cision.
  • Strong collaboration skills across departments and teams.
  • Understanding of the arts and Los Angeles arts community.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing/editing skills for diverse audiences and platforms.

Preferred

  • Experience filming and editing across formats, including long-form video.
  • Familiarity with emerging social platforms and analytics tools.
