Job Summary

Own the social narrative for FQ Sports across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube by spotting cultural moments, building platform-tailored content, and driving audience growth and partner value.

  • Platform Ownership: Manage daily content including short form video, carousels, and live/event coverage to fuel engagement.
  • Content Engine: Source and repurpose game moments, athlete stories, and behind the scenes storytelling that fit the brand voice.
  • Growth & Engagement: Use data to optimize distribution and lift followers, engagement, and partner outcomes across channels.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Trendspotting: Monitor sports culture, major sports moments, athlete storylines, league news, and emerging platforms to keep FQ Sports relevant and ahead of the curve in the women’s sports conversation.
  • Content Development: Source, create, and repurpose compelling social-first content including game moments, women in the business of sports, athlete features, locker room access, behind-the-scenes footage, and off-field storytelling that resonates with sports fans and reflects FQ Sports’ mission and brand voice.
  • Visual Storytelling: Collaborate with internal team members to create visually appealing assets tailored for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Strong editing and storytelling abilities with an eye for visual aesthetics.
  • Engagement Optimization: Implement strategies to grow followers and drive meaningful engagement across the FQ Sports social ecosystem, tapping into the momentum of women’s sports.
  • Platform-Specific Expertise: Develop content tailored to each platform’s unique audience and algorithms, with a deep understanding of how sports content performs on Instagram, Instagram Stories/Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Analytics-Driven Growth: Use data and insights to inform content strategy, measure success, and refine approaches to meet key performance indicators for audience growth, engagement, and brand partner value.
  • Day-to-Day Platform Management: With proven experience managing the day-to-day of social media accounts, orchestrate daily content including short-form video, carousels, quote cards, highlight reels, and other sports-relevant assets. Pivot as needed for breaking news.
  • Articulate Writer: Write and edit captions with a commanding sense of the FQ Sports brand voice and POV, authoritative on the game, celebratory of the athletes, and unmistakably FQ.
  • Community Engagement: Lead community engagement across channels, publishing and engaging with content daily. Real-time monitor the sports conversation to identify strategic opportunities, jump on cultural moments, and flag potential issues.
  • Event Social Coverage: Lead social coverage of FQ Sports activations, games, tournaments, and conferences, including promotion, live quote cards, athlete takeovers, and highlighting brand partners.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience managing social media accounts for a brand, media company, league, team, or sports property.
  • Proven success growing and engaging audiences on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, ideally within sports, entertainment, or culture-driven verticals.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices, with specific fluency in how sports content travels online.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a knack for crafting on-brand, engaging copy and sharp sports commentary.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, native platform insights).
  • Experience capturing and creating visually compelling content, including shooting on mobile and familiarity with tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or similar.
  • Comfort working on-site at games, events, and activations, sometimes on evenings and weekends, to capture live content.
