Job Summary

Own and execute a clear Instagram content and engagement plan for a nonprofit audience, coordinating monthly calendars, post creation, and growth tactics.

  • Content calendar design and monthly planning to align with program goals.
  • Create and optimize Instagram posts 1–2x per week (including Reels/Stories) and guide hashtag strategy to grow followers and engagement.
  • Provide monthly input on photo needs and storytelling to enhance audience connection.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • design a posting content calendar in advance for each month
  • do photo editing as needed to optimize photos for posting
  • create actual Instagram posts 1 to 2x per week including Reels and Stories
  • posting 1 to 2x per week to our Instagram account. We can provide photos and brief descriptions for you to use.
  • provide guidance each month on types of photos that will be needed
  • give input re realistic goals for our Instagram a/c including adding followers
  • help build our followers and increase our engagement through the selection of proper hashtags for our photos etc.
  • enhance our storytelling through effective use of social media

Requirements

  • familiar with Instagram use in a nonprofit or business setting
  • commit for at least 6 months

Community Support: We manage a home-building project which will benefit up to 40 women in the Jinja area.Income-Generation: Our program focuses on training Ugandan women in two community-based groups in business and farming skills to help them establish small-scale businesses or cash crop farming ventures. We also sell fair trade crafts in the U.S. which provides additional funds to the women making the products and helps fund the additional community level projects.Our integrated approach since our founding in 2007 ensures comprehensive support for education, health, and economic empowerment in the regions we serve.
