Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Concept and produce social content — including video, graphics, carousels, and post copy — inspired by SoFi’s educational articles, newsletters, podcasts, and videos.
  • Translate complex financial topics into clear, engaging, platform-native storytelling without sacrificing accuracy or nuance.
  • Collaborate with editors, designers, and strategists, while maintaining clear creative ownership and accountability for final output.
  • Research unfamiliar financial topics and quickly build working expertise.
  • Apply objectivity, accuracy, and audience empathy when framing educational content for social platforms.
  • Partner with Social and Community teams to implement a social strategy focused on amplifying SoFi’s educational content.
  • Adapt content for platform-specific best practices across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Reddit, while maintaining a consistent educational voice.
  • Monitor social channels for audience feedback and questions as well as trends related to financial education and incorporate to inform future work.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience owning social content creation end to end, ideally for a brand, media company, or content-driven organization.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating short-form video, on-screen text/graphics, and copywriting across platforms.
  • A clear journalistic instinct: curiosity, rigor, objectivity, and the ability to explain complex topics simply.
  • Comfort being on camera and serving as a recognizable voice for educational content.
  • Deep familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and their performance metrics.
  • A data-informed mindset with experience iterating based on results.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience creating or promoting educational, financial, or fintech content.
  • Familiarity with organic and paid social channels and the different strategies that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Familiarity with newsletter growth strategies and audience conversion funnels.
  • Experience working in regulated industries or with compliance-reviewed content.
  • Proficiency with social publishing, analytics, and project-management tools.
