Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the SEO strategy for a high-growth e-commerce business, driving organic traffic, revenue, and conversion improvements.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and SEO audits to identify and prioritize high-impact growth opportunities.
  • Maintain strong technical SEO foundations, including site architecture, indexation, canonicalization, redirects, robots.txt, and sitemaps; proactively resolve crawl and indexing issues.
  • Lead on-site optimization across product, category, and landing pages, improving rankings, click-through rates, and conversion through content, metadata, and internal linking.
  • Develop and execute off-site SEO and link-building strategies to grow domain authority through high-quality editorial placements, partnerships, and digital PR. (ex. tech blogs, product reviews, gift guides)
  • Optimize the site for AI-driven search and discovery (e.g., SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity) through structured data, clear content, and strong entity/brand signals.
  • Partner with engineering to improve site speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall technical performance.
  • Monitor and report on SEO performance (Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs/SEMrush), translating insights into actionable improvements.
  • Support PPC and other digital marketing initiatives by providing SEO insights and keyword recommendations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Google SEO for ecommerce websites
  • Proven track record of increasing organic traffic, revenue, and search rankings for online stores.
  • Strong understanding of technical on-page SEO optimizations
  • Great experience building off-site link-building campaigns from reputable websites
  • Experience with SEO tools: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript basics as they relate to SEO.
  • Familiarity with structured data/schema markup and rich snippets for e-commerce.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Expertise in ecommerce platforms (Shopify preferred)
