Job Description
Responsibilities
- Write quality, error-free press releases, media alerts, pitches, bylined articles, blogs and thought-leadership pieces
- Expertly pitch national and local broadcast, print, digital and trade media with a strong understanding of audiences and news cycles. Develop PR campaign strategies that align with clients’ overarching business objectives and support broader marketing or communications goals
- Confidently meet with new clients to fully understand their brand voice, messaging priorities and objectives, translating insights into compelling media materials
- Effectively delegate tasks among PR team members, while ensuring quality, consistency and deadlines
- Maintain and leverage relationships with media contacts to drive client coverage
- Take initiative on tasks with minimal direction and proactively provide ideas and recommendations
- Train. mentor and provide feedback to PR specialists and interns, supporting skill development and growth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4-5 years of PR experience, including earned media media strategy and pitching
- Agency experience preferred
- Strong writing skills
- Established relationships with media at the local and/or national level
- Restaurant and/or hospitality industry experience is a plus
