Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Market knowledge: Identify and understand the US media landscape, its requirements and PA's ability to exploit these. Identify key target journalists and maintain relationships
  • Go-to-market PR execution and strategy: Work with sector and service marketing teams and consultants to design, deliver and evaluate a programme of creative, responsive, and news-driven PR which is both tailored for the US and aligned to global PR strategies. Support the Global Head of PR to develop PR strategy and promote PA brand through PR opportunities. Manage inbound enquiries, report coverage and handle any issues
  • Digital and social media strategy: Be across digital media, new podcasts, evolving online targets and the social space. Manage social media updates, engage with journalists, and promote PA via LinkedIn
  • Content creation and editing: Critically review and edit media content including pitches, press releases, and thought leadership. Write compelling pitches, media submissions and press releases
  • PR agency and corporate support: Be the day-to-day point of contact for our PR agency support, ensuring they're leveraging PA content effectively, generating strong ideas, and having productive conversations with our experts. Support the Global Head of PR with corporate matters as needed

Requirements

  • minimum of 5 years’ media relations experience and a strong track record in energy & utilities, transport, healthcare & life sciences – including subject matter expertise in at least one of these core sectors – or professional services.
  • experience using research and thought leadership for PR campaigns and will be able to identify, adapt, and write content that will appeal to the media.
  • track record of delivering tangible media results across national, trade, and broadcast media as well as podcasts.
  • We require a candidate with the ability to understand the role of media relations within the wider communications mix to drive results.
  • The candidate must be able to critically review and edit content, restructure, and produce clear, compelling narratives.
  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Preference for accredited PR/communications qualification
