Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Public Relations: Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies that enhance brand awareness, protect reputation, and generate positive media coverage. Serve as primary media contact and manage relationships with journalists, influencers, and key external stakeholders.
  • Executive Communications: Partner with senior leaders to craft and deliver internal and external messaging, including speeches, talking points, presentations, and executive announcements. Ensure messaging is consistent, compelling, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • PR Agency Management : Oversee the strategic partnership with the external PR firm, guiding overall brand positioning, executive communications, and high-impact initiatives while ensuring alignment with business priorities and organizational goals.
  • Crisis & Reputation Management: Lead preparation and execution of crisis communications plans, managing sensitive information with discretion while safeguarding the company’s reputation.
  • Thought Leadership & Content: Drive content development for corporate announcements, media opportunities, internal platforms, and social channels ensuring consistent brand voice and storytelling.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, brand, operations, HR, and store teams to ensure alignment of messaging, campaigns, and initiatives across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Business
  • Minimum Experience: 6+ years in public relations, corporate communications, or executive communications
  • Soft Skills/Competencies: Strong media relations and storytelling skills, with proven success in securing positive coverage
  • Soft Skills/Competencies: Expertise in developing polished, executive-level PowerPoint presentations that distill complex information into clear, compelling narratives
  • Soft Skills/Competencies: Experience in executive communications and supporting senior leadership
  • Soft Skills/Competencies: Crisis communications experience with the ability to manage sensitive information
  • Soft Skills/Competencies: Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills

  • Hours & Conditions: Typically Monday – Friday, 8+ hour days, 4 days per week in office with opportunity for 1 flex day from home per week contingent on job performance/business needs
  • Physical Requirements: Minimal physical effort required; sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.

Preferred

  • Master’s in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Business
  • 8+ years with experience in PR or corporate communications in retail, consumer, high-profile environments
